Wonderful Wednesday ... 61

Bit of a dreary photo to start a positive post, but I kind of love it...

I've missed a few weeks because of this and that, but I'm back to it for this week at least... Here's some stuff that's been making me smile.

1. Painting. We are really getting somewhere now with painting our hallway, upstairs and down. My Dad has been helping which is super awesome, as he is super awesome at painting and the ultimate perfectionist. I feel like the end is in sight now, just a few more doors and frames to gloss, then carpet... wuhu!

2. Halloween. I frigging LOVE Halloween, love everything about it. Love how it gets bigger and better each year, love how the supermarkets and shops really embrace it, love the range of sweets and treats, love dressing up a bit goth and scary, any excuse to re-live my grebo youth right? This year my sis, bro in law and Mark and I all went to Beamish, which I possibly LOVE more than Halloween! But a Beamish Halloween night, Whaaaaaaaaaaat! Seriously fun.

3. Dark nights. So all week everywhere people have been staring out the window by 5pm declaring 'It's SO dark' with a grimace on their faces. Am I the only one who is secretly super happy about dark nights? I love them! Obviously it means it's winter time officially which always makes me happy, because more clothes... but I love that feeling of leaving work in the dark, the streets are emptier, the evenings just feel exciting...

4. Frosty mornings. We had our first super super frosty morning recently, nope I cannot remember which day, but it was awesome! So cold, I could see the frost covering everything as soon as I opened the curtains, I could see my breath as I walked along, my little hands were cold and longing for mittens and the sky was stunningly beautiful thick with mist. Just wow. More like this one please.

5. Kara photos. So you may have seen my last post... but we sadly (well not just 'sadly', there's not really a word that comes close to how it feels)lost our little family dog Kara a few weeks ago. She was one of my very favourite people in the world. It turns out she was also one of my very favourite photography subjects, perhaps my most favourite. Between my sister and I, we have amassed hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of photos of her. I have been compiling them and sorting them and it is bringing me so much joy. We have endless happy memories with that special girl and having all these photos has brought me a lot of comfort and smiles (in between the tears).

6. The Good Place. What do you watch on TV? What do you watch with your other half? Everything we watch these days has zombies, killing, dragons, gruesome horrible things.. they are all dark and serious and epic and scary. But we happened upon a little programme on Netflix and honestly it's such a contrast to our usual. The Good Place is pretty funny, its light and short, easy to watch, bright and colourful. It might be a love it or hate it thing, but I love it. I think it's pretty original and genuinely hilarious! I was hooked from the first minute.

That's me for this week. But don't forget to check out the rest of the Wonderful crew...SallyHelenMichelleSarahKateCatSamEl Kerri, and Peta tweet tweet your Wonderful too with the hashtag #WonderfulWednesday
