Wonderful Wednesday... 68

Hello you wonderful lot, welcome to another little Wednesday list...

I'm beginning to feel, ever so slightly, the draaag of January and the daily 9-5 routine. Weeks off usually do me so much good, I bounce back to work refreshed, energised, motivated and all that. But then you get bogged down again into your routine and begin to feel a little bit ugh. However... I really know the stuff that jumps me right back out of these feelings and stops me getting overly negative. As much as I may be lacking in motivation I've been sticking to my tried and tested methods, in fact all the stuff HERE and it works it truly truly works. When you are feeling a little out of sorts some of these things can feel a bit like going through the motions, it may take a little time but if I stick to the things I know make me happy then I'm feeling myself again in no time.

This little Wednesday list though plays a big part in changing my mood for the better and always brings me joy... so here we are with this week's happiness...

1. An evening with Corey. Popped round to see my oldest nephew Corey on Friday night. He's permitted to stay up a little later on a Friday and we had so much fun. First endless games of hide and seek running round Grandma's house, then drawing and colouring and an epic game of play dough competition, where we both see who can make the bestest Cat, or snake, or Pikachu...etc...  Corey mostly won every round of course. I think he's going to be a little artist that one.

2. Chats with my sister. You know when you are just SO frustrated, shocked, angry, and just feel ALL the emotions at once and you just might burst if you don't tell somebody about it. Well that somebody for me is always my sister (poor Jen, soz!) But it does usually work both ways. I hate feeling like this and I'm usually not a hot headed person and I really try to not let people and things get to me, but sometimes it is just impossible. But Jen always talks me down, I feel a million times better after speaking to her.  She makes me see things in a different light and gives just the right balance of telling me I'm over reacting (usually) and fab advice. Chats with my sis are the best, thanks dearest!

3. Sunday night routines.  I've started a new little Sunday evening routine this year and I'm really rather loving it. I'm showering in the evening and shaving my legs and exfoliating etc. I do my eyebrows, my finger and toe nails and then I sit and watch youtube videos with a face mask on. I've got a special 'Sunday evening' facial oil and moisturiser too. It feels quite nice to take care of myself a little better and to devote some more specific time for these little things. Even these tiny inconsequential things that I'm sure only I notice just help in that little way to make me feel happier in my own skin.

4. A new coat. I've got a green parka waterproof coat. It really is just a basic practical coat, long, waterproof and has a hood and is fairly warm. I walk everywhere in every weather so I have to have a practical coat (boring). But a while back the zip broke. It is my very fave coat and was fairly new. The style of coat and zip made it very hard (not to mentions stupidly expensive) to repair so I kept wearing it, broken zip and all which was very frustrating, stepping into and out of my coat... ugh. But the shop I purchased it from has some new ones in this season and they are very very similar in different colours. So obviously I HAD to have one. I'm thrilled with it. Wuhu.

5. House through time. Anyone else been watching this? It's fascinating I tell you. A short BBC 2 series looking at the history of 1 specific house in Liverpool. They have traced all the previous owners and delve into their back stories etc and show what life was like for them. Amazing. I'm such a huge history geek and just love things like this. I would love to be able to do that for all the houses I have lived in too. Enjoying a break from the usual blood and gore of my usual programmes to something a little more intellectual.

6. Reading. I think I have cracked it. A goal that has literally been on my new years resolutions list for years and years and years... to read more. So simple yet something I never ever seemed to get round to. But I now read most evenings, even if it is just half an hour. I've already read 1 book this year so far and pretty much near to completion of the second. I'm so pleased to see that stack next to my bed going down, but I'm even more pleased I've re-discovered my passion for books. Any recommendations? I love biography and historical, and something uplifting and inspirational, nice things to read....

That's me for this week... but don't forget to check out the rest of the Wonderful Wednesday gang, they can be found here: SallyHelenMichelleSarahKateCatSamEl Kerri, and Peta tweet tweet your Wonderful too with the hashtag #WonderfulWednesday
